Did you end up getting the braided lines? I'm considering paying racebrakes a visit for DB2500s, some fluid and braided lines.

I am wondering if this will take care of the sponginess I'm experiencing, that is compared to my Accord Euro which features instant super grippy pedal feel.

Yes the braided lines are on the car they tend to make the peddel feel more direct but have not been for a spirited drive yet. No real spongy feel at all.
