very nice! be sure to get some pictures of before and after shots!! (the rotors)

            edit:

Just thought of a question regarding brakes...for those who purchased after market kits. did you buy discs for all 4 side of the wheel? or just the front and move the fronts to the back ? (is that do able?)

Ok i brought a set of Audi S3 front rotors X2 and calipers X2. The fronts are not able to go on the rear due to the hand brake cable and diferent mounting. From what i understand is that the front does most of the heave braking and rears are just there to help (could be wrong tho).

I once had ebc greenstuffs and dba rotors on the astra. Apart from the racket they made (even with that red goo that supposedly quitens them), they were fantastic. Car would stop on a dime. Beware in the cold though... you really need to warm them up to bite.

Ok so 100k,s later and so much better the bite of the pad when cold is awsome still running textar pads and no braided lines. So with better pads new fuild and new lines it should be inasin cant wait to get to the track to see how they go.

                            Rob how are the brakes?

Before coilovers and chips I'd go for brakes.

The standard brakes are really ordinary IMHO - especially the first couple of stops from cold. It just feels like it's not going to stop in time.

How much difference did you find with your 312's?

Is the actual pad surface more with the Audi calipers?

Mine doesnt go on the track but what I do want is real strong retardation from relative cold at 120kmh when some idiot pulls in front of you on the M1 or you come over a rise a little too quick to find a long row of brake lights just ahead.

Do your bigger rotors work better in this situation?

I know better pads would probably make a difference but i do like the idea of big brakes.

Both Timbo and I are running the 312mm rotors.Pad size is up about 10%,but a much larger range of pads are available. We're using Ferodo 2500's with high boiling point fluid.
Braking is much improved, even with cold pads initial bite is very good.No noise from pads either.
Track performance is improved out of sight.Very good mod for reasonable money, even if you never intend to go to the track.
Oh,and they fit under the standard 16" wheels.
                              Cheers
                              Len

Hey i find it hard to tell now due to the 312mm brakes have been on the car for a while.
The pad feel is bad at the mo i am using martini fluid and have not changed it after several track runs so i would say its shot.
The Textar pads are pretty good when cold but once i get throught them ill be using the Ds2500 pads ment to be ok cold but the EBC is from what i have heard pretty bad when cold.
