Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

with a micrometer you can measure the width of the disk on the lip and then just under the lip on the narrower part. and compare with the "factory" measurement for how thick the disk should be (i font know what it it).
its ok to change pads on old rotors but not recommended the other way around. so if you change rotors, change the pads too.06 Polo GTI

I know I'm dredging up an old thread here, but I wonder if those of you who have changed your brakes, do you happen to know if they have reduced your stopping distance and helped eliviate brake fade? I ask because I know on the new PoG there is alot of critisism of it's braking performance, so before I go jumping into buying new pads, I wonder if any of you polo owners happened to measure your stopping distances before and after changing your brakes and if you recorded it?sigpic

Can anyone provide part numbers for the RDA (or DBA) rotors? RDA website says I need to be a dealer to log in and DBA don't seem to have on the website. (for a 9n3, gti)Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
