I've been sloppy with updating recently.

After 2 months off work (unwillingly) I'm back on the path to righteousness...

New Seat Sports FMIC on the way
Sports Cat on the way with exhaust spacer
SAI bypass 1/2 done (waiting to see how the CEL goes before I complete)

After the hardware is sorted I'll be back on the Tune discussions, this could get interesting but I'm waiting to hear some updates (curve ball).

The Polo is getting daily use again, so wanting to get it right. Thinking about changing to 16's from my Enkei's, see how that goes.

UR braces look like they're on the cards.

All pretty exciting, great to see so much interest in the Polo section (mainly around turbo upgrades, UR braces and FMIC's), hope I have not been bugging too many with my over-frequent posts.

Right, its been a good and bad time for the Polo of recent.

I had to take the Polo to a mechanic as there was a suspension noise I couldn't place. Obviously I've been getting lazy as it was one of the drop links. The thread on the nut / link had sheared off, so I had to angle-grind it off. 2 new Bilsten sways on, back in business (better handling, less noise).

SAI bypass has been done for a while, started throwing codes eventually, once I can properly log the code, might be able to see if APR can do anything for the APR coded boys.

New swaybar (UltraRacing) went in earlier in the week to replace the Forge one I've had for a few years. Much stiffer bar.

Seat FMIC and custom kit went in yesterday, had a leak, so took the front end off again today, moved some clamps around a little, tightened up everything. Got my lappy working with Vagcom again enough to do a basic log, dont seem to have any leaks.

I'll leave my comments on the Seat vs Forge FMIC's for a while until my car learns how to work with it, my initial impressions are that the car seems to not work as hard to pull ahead. Its not a massive difference, but it was never going to be.

Still need to get my sports cat in, been slack with this. The car is a daily drive for work, so the Kms are slowly climbing, I might even reach 45K kms before next year! City / Suburban kms...

Met up with redliner to pass on the front brace, his toy is looking good and his plans will be interesting to keep an eye on.

Another few months go by, not much news...

I installed an 8" sub with amp that I'm pretty happy with. Total project cost was $200, it 'gets down', so I'm sated.

I was waiting to see if APR were doing a revision of the stock turbo code, but this never eventuated. As its gone from likely to not happening, I'll likely slowly go down the CC path.

My attempt to install a sports cat have been halted as no one near me seems to want to look at this for decent coin, so I have a sports cat and spacer gathering dust.

New oil, filter and TT calipers went in on the weekend. Its nice not to have the noise the old calipers were causing me.

Anyone wanting some bits towards a front TT brake setup, let me know. I've got spare pads and carriers, just need the calipers, rotors and some fluid and you're good to go!

I've been enjoying the front end traction with the 595RSR's, very happy with these so far, it makes the torquey FWD much more enjoyable.

Federal 595's? I suppose you're not skidding them but on RWD cars they delam pretty quick, all the boys i know are now running Achilles.

Definitely not trying to drift or anything fancy, just a nice cheap option (<$200 a corner) for some sticky rubber.
I have not tried a lot of brands, but these help with the 1st and second gear torque lumps that occur at around 3.5k rpm.

You may be referring to the 595 SS, rather than RS-R at that price.

Probably. Drift days are expensive!

The RSR's are recommended by a few on here for tracking, thats why I went with them. Pretty good in the wet for a semi-slick.

Any wheel spin in first or second witg them?

Thats a hard one to say.
I don't launch, but I know the traction is much improved over the stock conti's, the KU31's I've used previously.

They bite well, but if I say they do and you're putting out more torque, then you'd easily be disappointed that you can overwhelm yours.

For me they are pretty comfortable, don't appear to be wearing prematurely, have taken a screw which didn't go through, were reasonably cheap and bite (pretty well in the wet too).

I'm not sure what the experts say, but I'd put a good spec set on the front and leave the rears with a decent trye over a lesser spec tyres on all corners as the front does all the hard work (like having big brakes up front and leaving the rears as is).

No, I have the front biting and the rears never not had traction for me. I've not had the rear come out, feel loose or anything like that.

My comment is that the worst tyres i've had on my car (waxy used Marangoni's) that made the car understeer horribly were fine on the back. I don't see the point in paying for expensive rear tyres, again just my opinion.
