I was waiting to see if APR were doing a revision of the stock turbo code, but this never eventuated. As its gone from likely to not happening, I'll likely slowly go down the CC path.
What revision were you hoping for?
Haven't APR recently updated their tune for the SAI delete if you want it?
Not revised, its an option (not free to existing customers, costs more)
There was a conversation I was having with Guy and another forum member last year in relation to a new tune (lets call it Phase 1, V3) which didn't come to market. I didn't chase Guy on why.
CC Stage 2 in for a week. Did some logging yesterday, boost is coming on a bit slow, peak boost around 20psi (vag-com).
Reduced my plug gap from 0.040 (seems high, not sure where I got this number from) down to 0.025 and swapped my N75 for the Race version I have lying around (not for more power, to see if my stock one is playing up). Car is more aggressive.
About to go log, see if I can squeeze any more timing from the ECU. Its nice not to have an CEL from the SAI system any more.
With the CC code in, new turbo bolts and gasket, proper gaping and a working N75, its all feeling pretty good.
Props to Gav for the spares, coding and support. Its a shame to have paid for APR then CC, but the extra spend has been worth it.

Don't know its bad. not pulling any timing down low, but the boost curve seems a fair way behind the requested value.
I can get a new one, can't see a good way to test it.
They either work or don't really. open or closed. If you make more than WG pressure it has to be doing something. That's the same tune as all the other Phase 2 Polo's going around.
If you are bit geeky, maybe overlay the boost from the other one I sent you, to see what that looks like against yours.
You were flowing more air that it was, only a few grams but definitely more.
N75 back to stock, swapped the bad plug out with an old one I had.
Car seems happier, well picked. A slightly rough idle is smoother, as I'm still nursing a shagged engine mount, was not expecting a plug to fix it. Thinking they are older than I remember.
Hey bud,
Are you running 2.0 coils? I run a 0.040" gap with them which seems to be popular.. I'm wondering if it's contributing to my rough idle lately Might try the same and close them up a bit.

Std coils.
Gav seemed to think the spark plugs need to be refreshed fairly regularly, seems to have been the issue in my case.
My coil packs look new, probably seen 10-20k km as they were replaced in the recall.

That's a monster gap Sam. I know you have new coilpacks but even still, it's big still.

I had the same idea of 0.04", read it somewhere. 0.025 seems about right.
How often would you recommend changing the spark plugs?
I'm still running the original battery (06), could a battery close to the end of its life be causing any dramas? Happy to replace, surprised its lasted the 7 years.
Hmm, thanks Gav and Jimmy. 0.040" gap is popular with the 2.0 coils for some reason. I'll try and gap them down to 0.030 and see what happens. I'm running Iridium plugs which some have advised against as well, so thinking of changing those out too...
Sorry for the hijack.. continue
