This sets up a pulsing wave in the turbo piping and explains why the sound has that characteristic “flutter”.

The interesting thing about compressor surge is that it occurs much more readily at low turbo shaft speeds. At these low shaft speeds, on road cars this is generally between 2000 and 3000 RPM, compressor surge is not much of a problem, as the loads generated by the surge are miniscule compared to what the turbo encounters at high boost. However, if surge occurs at high RPM and boost, it is possible to reduce the turbo life and/or damage the compressor.
lol copy paste from GFB website, but explains it well

... or, if you're going that far, why not a Garrett T28? (Yeah, I know ... new manifolds etc. ... but you have to admit, it has its attractions.)

It blew the brake line nipple off or somthing and blew a part of the brake up.

I have to wait 10 days before i can drive the car again because of parts coming from germany.

From my Skyline days I always thought of the t28 as a pretty small turbo i.e base upgrade for silvias etc

Which means you'll get more power - but also that the turbine will have more rotational inertia and take longer to spool up. This, of course, results in turbo lag.

I guess that everyone who's looking for more power out of a turbo upgrade has to eventually make the decision whether to make the car more drivable, or to create a big power, dragstrip queen.
