Had finance approved today so the only thing stopping me from going ahead with the purchase would be if I'm underwhelmed by the car (hmm...should I even say that on here??? )

Mitch - Just want to thank you for your time thus for and your most generous offer of a test drive, especially given the local dealer does not have a car for me to drive (whats up with that?). PM sent Mitch

                    Cheers,

                      Polo GTI- current prices

                      Cliffo,

It can be really hard sometimes for suzuki australia to supply the dealership i work in with certain cars. for example, At the moment we have a Red swift sport, one of only three in the country. We get dealers calling us all the time for these cars as they have people screaming to drive them.

When there is a short supply of stock, head office restrict access to cars.. They dont just send cars out to dealers for no reason ie. floor units. They keep a pool of cars in the melbourne warehouse and send them out to dealerships as they take orders on them.

The VW manager says getting you one wont be a problem but just to allow 4-6 weeks, worst case scenario.

                      Pm sent

This is the low down on the leather. There is no better feeling then getting in the car first thing in the morning with <10 deg temps outside, crank the seats to 5 and enjoy the toastiness When female friends first sat in the front seat I turned the heat on without them knowing and they thought they'd wet themselves

However, there is no worse feeling then getting into the car that has sat in 30+ deg temps all day. I'm serious it's such a pain, I end up leaving a towel in the car all summer and I leave the seats angled forward and the towel draped over it to try and keep the sun away from the leather.

I would still get the leather again

                            Polo GTI- current prices

                            My pleasure Cliffo,

Felt good stretching its legs through some corners, especially in the wet.

Love how securely it holds the road.

Im still grinning aswell , really glad that you enjoyed the drive !!

Now i have to find out how long it will take to get you one.

                              Well its a done deal.

Expected 3-4 weeks till delivery - Candy White with Leather, $31,500 drive away.

I'm sure others have got it cheaper but I'm happy with that price - had $29,000 drive away in my head as the price with no options so add the leather and I'm in my range.

Now for the waiting game and selling my current car...anyone know of anyone in the Newcastle area looking to buy a tidy 2000 SSS Nissan Pulsar - charcoal grey, manual, 101,000 kms, Alpine stereo system, regular servicing blah blah blah....$11,500

Is it here yet...is it here yet.........what about now

Thanks again Mitch for doing a the leg work for me - made the deal very easy.

                              cheers,

I figure the less that people have to deal with the manager the better.
