Thats why I mentioned it - you also have two polo's in this thread running identical springs - one rubs - one does not - hence the comment - our was easy fixed by upping the ride height 10mm - unfortunately with springs its hard to do.

Took a couple of pics of the front swaybar & suspension. (these are on full droop on the hoist)

Purpose is to try to help people visualise the clearance problems between swaybar / driveshaft.

Since we removed the KW V3's & have gone to the PSS9's you can see clearance is not an issue as they supply a revised swaybar link that pulls the swaybar up & away from the driveshaft. I couldnt get a good pic of the rubbing we experienced with the old coilovers when they drooped, but if you can imagine its right at the top of the swaybar loop.

I'm not sure why, but Bilstein chose to include them in the kit & KW didn't.

I'll try to get a couple of pics loaded up as well!

Here's some better pics for reference: Before & after - you can see the differences in swaybar position, so it should help those with a rubbing issue!

The shorter links are the shiny ones on the bilsteins:

          After

other pics of different coilovers just for reference:

Nice post Guy, if you look at the Bilstein you sell, you will note that the bracket for the sway bar links sits lower than the bracket on KW hence they need the shorter sway bar links. KW's have been tested (with maximum axle loads and TUV certification) to as much as 40mm lowering on the front and 45mm in the rear. We have a customer on maximum lowering with no rubbing issues whatsoever. Other customers on 30mm lowering also have no rubbing issues.

something i noticed you should take a close look at.....

And im also on v2s and 40mm and im not rubbing on my driveshaft either?

the pictures you posted the driveshaft has no rub/marks on there other then tools being hit on it when parts being moved/removed/added?... typically you should have a continues line going around? afaik.

Actually Dragan, you are correct, the top mount is slightly lower on the bilsteins, but the link is way shorter, and you can see in the comparison photo's that the bilstein link pulls the sway bar up and away from the driveshaft. You will also note that I only posted that because "fuzion" asked about it, so the pictures from months ago. Fuzion, yes it did rub and its pretty easy to see - sorry if the pictures are not clear - as I said - raising the car up 10mm (which it had settled down from the original height we set it at) stopped all rubbing issues.

If you want to circle dirt on our car, its easier to circle the whole car - lol it a car used on the track a dozen times a year - sorry if it was dirty

The pics are for reference - as one person experiences rubbing with Eibach springs, and the other car doesn't (we don't sell springs either) so i thought they would appreciate seeing where the sway bar sits!

Done, I have added RRP's for the Polo GTI to our web site at http://www.inmotive.com.au just follow the KW Suspension/KW Coilovers/Coilover Application List menu's (please let me know if this works ok or not as I've just added this field to the db and the scripts to display the data).

All VW Watercooled and VW Vortex members are entitled to a discount as has been the case to date.

                                Cheers
