I have checked the tower piece and the blanking plate does not fit at the top, you must install it at the engine, my advice about the collant would be to drain the radiator first so as the coolant loss is min. from the sorrunding low point hose, you will still lose some fluid. you will remove three bolts to get the combi out, put the spare bolt back into the unused hole. good luck

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Ok sort of related, i'm got the P0411 (P0411 Sec.Air Inj.Sys. Incorrect Flow Detected 16795) code on my car at the moment. Just a Forge 007 DV, N75J, PD160 and K&N Filter installed. I cleared the code the first time by resetting the battery and it came on again after a day or two and i cleared that with my friends Scangauge 2 - just hope it doesnt come back.
Any ideas what it could be?MY2008 VW Polo GTi / GIAC Tune / Forge FMIC / Forge 007 DV / N75 Race / BMC OTA / KW V1 Coilovers / Whiteline Front&Rear Swaybars + Toe-In Shim / Weichers Front&Rear Strut Braces / Full Non-Res Milltek Exhaust / 17" Bora Sport

Nah no other codes just that one. I'll check the vacuum hoses that go to the combi when i get home. Possibly the hose is pinched somewhere or is leaking/broken?
Hope so, dont want to fork out for a new SAI pump or combi valve.MY2008 VW Polo GTi / GIAC Tune / Forge FMIC / Forge 007 DV / N75 Race / BMC OTA / KW V1 Coilovers / Whiteline Front&Rear Swaybars + Toe-In Shim / Weichers Front&Rear Strut Braces / Full Non-Res Milltek Exhaust / 17" Bora Sport

Thanks, yeh will do. Just dont want any water getting into the pump which would cost more $ to replace than a hose.
Fingers crossed its just a loose/cracked hose or something similar.MY2008 VW Polo GTi / GIAC Tune / Forge FMIC / Forge 007 DV / N75 Race / BMC OTA / KW V1 Coilovers / Whiteline Front&Rear Swaybars + Toe-In Shim / Weichers Front&Rear Strut Braces / Full Non-Res Milltek Exhaust / 17" Bora Sport

I did the easy part of this today, removed the VAC system, used the IE plugs.
Went to block off the SAI at the combi-valve, didn't fit...
Left the SAI pump in place, pipes where they are and used the IE resistor to eliminate the flow.
So far so good, I'll wait a few weeks to see if I get a code. Car feels a little torqier, but could be a placebo. Certainly wasn't any worse on startup.

That was a pain to access (with my tools), so I've left the pump i place for the time.
Starting to think my pump or combi was dying, the car is much quieter ad smoother on start up now. Its been a week, daily driving and no code yet (some magic in those IE resistors).
Jmac, when I go to do the block off, where should I clamp to stop the excessive fluid loss? Car will be on jacks.

I'm now getting a CEL for the SAI with error code P4011.
If I go ahead and remove the SAI and combi, will I have any issues with Insurance or roadworthy down the line?
I honestly just want the light gone, and the though of $$$ for my mechanic to troubleshoot it more (popped up 2 months back) or replace the pump is not something I really want to deal with now.2008 Polo GTI, lower honeycomb grills, PD160.

From what I've seen everyone who's done the emissions delete overseas with compulsory emissions testing has passed.
I can't see it being a big issue re roadworthy, unless they know what they're looking for in the bay?
