    hey guy how's it going?

you dont necessarily need the back AND the front. to have the back wheels popped out towards the guard a teensie bit more was cool, and i simply figured it'd be good to do a little bit on the front as well so the wheel stances between front and back didnt look too disparate/ contrasted. i'll dig around but i really dont have many pics of my car over the last almost 2 years ive had it- i'd spent quite a while neglecting it and using it as a daily drive. needless to say, not many tlc days with mini photo shoots afterwards.

to be honest, i never even considered/ wanted spacers at all when i was forming my modest but drawn out list of mods. i got the idea for the first time really when i ssman posted some spacers for sale in the parts section at a really reasonable price for second hand ones.

but then, i saw his car:

and i had to have moar! so i went back.

no photos just yet but im getting 30mm springs next monday, and i'll give her a good waxing etc and post pics up for sure!

thank god for ssman's spacers and being able to see his car in the flesh- the spacers really, really add to the look of the car.

      Its going not too bad

Ahhhhh the spacers looks awesome! there big on the back on that car though.

you can increase your track by 70mm on there kits. but alot of money i dont want to go too small and waste money i want to notice a "poke" i was thinking 40mm over all so 20mm on each side

The Phat 5's are an awesome wheels. 17's from memory.

The TT's tend to be a lower offset, so will sit closer to the guard without spacers.

If you are staying with your stock wheels, a bigger spacer is required for the same stance / poke.

Sorry i ment the offset not the actual wheel diamater. Im not a fan of the TT wheels tbh. im guessing finding wheels with a low offset and 5 stud 100pcd is hard.

I hear that. Looking for something that stands out to me is even harder.

given the truth of that statement, and the fact that ''modern wheel fashion'' is vomiting out some pretty horrible stuff, that's why OEM= win!

copy of some ideas I just posted over at ozaudi, referring to 5x100s

(note, not sure what your offset is)

you can get these RS6 rims in 5x100 ex Ebay UK for around £400

here's a ebay UK list of 18" rims that will suit your S3.

allow around £200 for delivery via www.ukbrandsworldwide.com

                  also, think about these:

                  for example

US$900 for a set of staggered 18x8" and 18x9" wide, plus allow US$350 for delivery

another good option is tirerack USA

they have 71 different rims to suit, and delivery I believe is around US$200

Were talking about the Polo I thought...

Any wider than 8" - generally speaking - wont fit without Poke (illegal here).

If you want to stay OEM, try find a wheel with 32 offset for a good start.

This is a useful page of wheels from VW's

Generally speaking, early Audi TT, early A3 and S3 wheels are the best OEM replacements for a bit wider wheel and poke.

17's are ideal for the Polo IMO.

oops, my faux-pas, I'm S3/wheel focussed right now!

but tweak a few of the search parameters and there's a huge range of wheels to be had on ebay and tireack

I agree 17" would be lovely. So 32 offset would give a little poke?
Theres alot of wheels out there majority seem to be 5x112

if you're wondering about spacers, whilst i dont condone them for anything other than making your car fat...

                              http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

this just has a simple calculator for how much more outer and inner clearance a wheel will have with varying width and offsets.
