  • 22000 ks and a blown gasget

Ok so my Polo GTI has just ticked over 22,000ks and i have had the first prob.
Was driving at low revs down a hill when the car started to sound like a truck.
Took the car back to VW dealer and 3 dyas later found out that the bolts on the manifold and turbo were loose and the gasget had done, got the car back and 30ks later it happened again. Took the car back to VW and this time one bolt was missing 2 were loos and one was fine. Damn VW dealer i dont think in the first place the bolts were tight enough just hope this does not happen again. So if your polo does this i would not be suprised.
    Cheers Rob

Is it actually possible for the extra APR/GIAC/etc boost to damage a gasket, and would said chip invalidate the warranty on said gasket? :/

It's a bit dodgy of the dealer to look at it, fix the problem only to have it reoccur 30km later, though. Hope it all works out.

Its not the chip ppls fault for a loose bolt by vw, heat and vibration over time with expension and contraction and vibration must have loosten the bolts. Then with a tiny gab the air found the path of least resistance and made it worse over a short time.

Is it the dealer or vw how do bolts undo before the dealer touches it???? All i can do is keep getting them done up. When the dealer turns around and says what have you done to do this, how long untill they say no coz my car is chipped???
