If they say that just say well there are xx amount of guys with similiar chips and nothing at all goes wrong with them. Still a prob after being nice just mention acc
I dont see how it could be vw themselves as noone else here is having that prob. I would take it somewhere else and get a 2nd opinion.

Probably not a good idea to name them here. There is only one dealer in Tas. Its a shame though. I would think that the work experience "person" would have had it all checked after they had done the nuts up.
I hope it all gets sorted Rob. Might be seeing you real soon!?Par 6 Golf GTI. Coilovers, BBS CH Wheels, APR'd

PoloGTi, mate its no good to hear of a fellow polo owner thats having such issues. i really hope that you get it sorted and soon. One question, why dont you take it to gtimk5 to see what he thinks. If i had the choice between a decent mechanic and the dealers i know where i would go. (pity i dont know any decent vw mech up here)

I think you deserve a free service for that. I'm serious, demand something for free. I'd be talking to APR about this just to be safe. It's true most chipped Polo's would be either here or on the tex, but just because we haven't heard bout this happening, doesn't mean it hasn't.Originally posted by PoloGTi View PostOk so my Polo GTI has just ticked over 22,000ks and i have had the first prob.
Was driving at low revs down a hill when the car started to sound like a truck.
Took the car back to VW dealer and 3 dyas later found out that the bolts on the manifold and turbo were loose and the gasget had done, got the car back and 30ks later it happened again. Took the car back to VW and this time one bolt was missing 2 were loos and one was fine. Damn VW dealer i dont think in the first place the bolts were tight enough just hope this does not happen again. So if your polo does this i would not be suprised.
Cheers Rob

Only one in Tas, I gather (and I'll avoid the obvious Tasmanian joke
)
Seriously, this sucks. I would be having a very serious and earnest discussion with the Service Manager and, if not satisfied, the Dealer Principal, followed by a letter to VWA.
Leaving aside the original cause, your problem has arisen due to negligent service by an untrained person. They should have rectified that immediately, and they fact they haven't suggests to me the guy may have damaged the studs or something. Have it thoroughly checked out.2015 White German SUV

Can you elaborate on the fix. What was done? Any idea on the cause?

Ok there are 3 bolts that came loose between the turbo and manifold. They are one use only bolts and can only be used once not 3 times and they need a VW cement to lock them in place all is fixed but i still have no idea why. I hope it does not come loose again.

Cheers PoloGTi. after talking to mk5gti he told me about the special bolts. Good to see HE knows what he is doing.

I'd say because of the extreme temperature difference the bolt has to endure limits its life. One of the most stressful points for a bolt is tightening and loosening, this is where they are most prone to snap. If you snapped one it'd be horrible to try and drill / tap it out.
