Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

1st year service coming up soon & wondering if my first quote of $190 (ABS) is around what we should be paying for the GTI?

Also, has anyone used "ABS" for their service? How did you find them?

    Thanks.

Not sure about ABS,presumably non Main Dealer service,
Burwins in FTG were by far the best price that I could get for a 15K service about $270.00.

Good service, also follow up call to make sure all was O.K.

australian brake services or something like that is all I can think of.

The 15,000 is a basic service so I wouldn't be too worried about taking it to an ABS or similar chain store. A timing belt might be a different story.

No idea about ABS but the price sounds pretty good.
I paid $210 + oil for my 15k with Autohaus One in Sydney (much better than the $400 I was quoted by VW).
              Cheers,
