The 15,000 is a basic service so I wouldn't be too worried about taking it to an ABS or similar chain store. A timing belt might be a different story.

1st year service coming up soon & wondering if my first quote of $190 (ABS) is around what we should be paying for the GTI?
Also, has anyone used "ABS" for their service? How did you find them?

No idea about ABS but the price sounds pretty good.
I paid $210 + oil for my 15k with Autohaus One in Sydney (much better than the $400 I was quoted by VW).
