Can anyone give me a best guess as to when this new Polo Gti might be available here in AUS? I might be very interested if its before the end of the year and the price is competitively below the Golf Gti.

I'm not sure there has been any real indication of when it will be here MikeeR. Generally we'd get the standard models first, and then the GTI several months after.
The GTD and R are coming mid year. So if the Polo comes in the 2nd half of this year, the Polo GTI may not be here until next year...

Indications dont mean much.
As the engine is borrowed, should not be too much there.
Timing will be very dependant on what else is in the market at the time, they may bring it forward to slay a lesser hatch, or delay it to avoid competition with cars considered more sporty.
I would not be surprised if it did not come this year.

Not sure if anyone has said it already, but there are no side vents the the SMIC. Less flow to the cooler for the new model?

The rear-light treatment a little on the dull side. Very similiar inside to the current car but with an improvement in quality. Unfortunately there was no GTI at that time for me to look at. Here is a pic I took, if it works, I never know how to get one on here!?
