Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi, that seems very low unless you had heat soak. I got mine dynoed last year with just a GIAC tune and was consistantly getting a between 119-122ATW over a few runs. It could be worth trying another dyno to see if the one you used was out. If not you might have a boost leak.

I went with a mate who has a Mk6 Golf GTI DSG with APR tune done and his was reading 135KW ATFW which he thought was low as well. Might have been the Dyno. It was approx 33 Degres inside with 40% humidity. Not sure how that will affect things.

Best way to test the surging is jump on a highway with a boost gauge, chuck the car in 4th and let the car settle down to ~2000rpm in that gear. Then go full throttle up to 4,000rpm and you should see max boost be reached (typically 18-21psi for most tunes) and then see the boost drop to ~15psi, then back up and so on. If you don't have a gauge you can feel the drop in power as the boost drops, then feel the power come back slightly as it rises again.
