only guessing but I'd say take the badge off, spray the badge white, spray the inside of the mount point white, tape off the white areas you want to keep, then spray black.Originally posted by GuyGTi View PostHow did you paint the "inside" White? i know this post is old sorry

Likely going to be painting my badges this weekend and just want to get people's methods for removing them (front and rear)?
I'm guessing jamming a screwdriver under it, punk kid style probably isn't an option, hahaJust because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting

Front one you twist to the right (I think... Its been a while, but I have done it), then pull out.Originally posted by danish View PostLikely going to be painting my badges this weekend and just want to get people's methods for removing them (front and rear)?

For the rear, get some fishing line or floss, and get in behind the badge.

For the front:
If you have a torx set, you can remove the front grill with the badge attached by undoing the 4 torx screws from above. There are a few clips that have to be lifted on the bottom of the grille, using a screwdriver through the honeycomb section.
The Forge FMIC guide has all this illustrated, check their site.

My front badge is a combination of Gunmetal Grey from a model shop and matt black spray paint.Originally posted by Piotr View Postwow they look great
so i think im going to have to copy
(sorry) but first some paint questions. what kind of black did you guys use? ie satin, matt or gloss also noone whats the name of the red and is it gloss. thanks in advance.
The red is actually calliper paint, but as the red is so close to the red of the GTI, works a treat!
in the middle of removing my GTI badges and doing the rear badge (caliper paint is good match for the Red)
