Hopefully Lima has word on the manual from a reliable source and not just some rumour started by some doofus misquoting information on some forums! hehe
Had a call from the VW dealership today. Salesperson informed me that he had pricing and info on the options/trim levels for the new polo but not car pricing
Take this at face value as I haven't got the hard copy detail in front of me, it's only based on what I can remember from our quick phone conversation.
Trendline will be base model, 3 door, 1.4L petrol.
Comfortline will only be in 5 door and include options of the 1.2 TSI or the TDI.
Two extra trim "packs" available.
One for the Trendline which gives it a few mod cons that are standard on the comfortline (can't remember the particulars but climate control - 1 zone - and auto lights comes to mind).
The comfortline will have a "sports" option for approx $1500 that will include the tinted rear and side windows, sports suspension - read most likely just springs - and the Boavista 17 inch wheels.
He also mentioned RCD 310 MDI??? I'm not sure if he was referring to the media interface or the GPS but that was approx $700-800 odd.
Rear parking senses also and option but can't recall the price.
sports front seats and leather are another option (maybe alacantra(sp?) can't remember exactly as i tuned out when he said $2400.
Hope this is of some help to people. I know what I'm keen on: 1.2 TSI 5 door in grey metallic with the sports pack (really like the boavista rims).
Cheers,
Chris

Sounds like your salesperson is leaking info he has been asked to keep quiet
New polo is going to sell like hotcakes, I would not be surprised if it took away from golf buyers due to being great value!!! I've already told my dealer to put one aside!
i just really really really hope they dont skimp out on the diesels and only bring in the lower power models.... 77kw and 250nm as stock, please. if they have fmic and 280mm brakes as standard, im going to cry tears of joy.
sunroof+sports seats+leather [which is what i'd be after] will be exxy coin, though.

I think the TDI will have the 66kw version. From the UK site the most power TDI is the 66kw version. Hmmmm... 2 secs slower to 100 than the 1.2L TSI and no DSG from the looks of it.
The 1.2TSI is the one to get... apparently 96kW from a reflash only!
hmmm if its the 66kw version, and if my current polo tdi is written off [small chance, due to crash last week], i dont think i'll want the 66kw version.
