Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah I saw that you had a sticker on the window behind your head but didn't catch what it was.

Did you change the colour of your plates?

Nothing like resurrecting a 8 year old thread!

I am looking to maximize the wattage of the bulbs in my headlights. Whats the max recommended wattage for both the high beam and the low beam in a 2006 GTI?
Any recommendations on brand/model of bulbs for max output?

        Cheers

Honestly, don't waste your time with different wattage bulbs.

All you need is MINI H1 BIXENON HID PROJECTOR KIT, open the standard headlight install the proper kit and reseal. Be warned the original headlights to open are a real pain in the butt.

Once done the output at night is very rewarding without blinding other drivers
