    it didn't sound like pinging but more mechanical at the time, but i haven't heard any pinging before in any of my other cars. i'm not mechanically stoopid but i guess with these new fandgled cars you never know.

      im with paul it def sounds more mechanical on mine as well, also seems to happen at lower revs for me, but like i said im just going to wait for sat for jimmy to look for sure

          Glad your on top of that one mate. Sounded like it with your description, fuel is a hit or a miss at times pays to try and stick with the servo you are used to. Cant stress to my wife enough when filling the A4, and yeah its obvious when she has used a dodgy bowser.
          As for the other noises mentioned here, if you have done ANY susp upgrades please use new bolts especially the control arm bolts, One that is slightly loose will click/clunk. Check them and check your sway bar links ball and sockets get wear in them.

            Yeah I back tracked and figured out it was fuel from a BP down in Tweed Heads, which explains it. Not surprised really (no offence Eddy )

            I usually use the same petrol station but was out of fuel and down that way at the time.
