  • clicking on the right hand side

hey guys , just wanting to know if you've heard of this problem,

60km an hour in 3rd , put on the throttle full and a slight clicking from the right side. probably about 3 to 4 clicks then gone.
I know it's not the CV's because i've tested them out.
The car is standard except for ecu Custom Code. it doesn't do it when taking off.

    Anyone ?

              clicking

If i had to put my finger on i would say it sounds like the CV joint. only clicks about 4 times then stops , almost feels likes a mechanical diff kicked in ??

sean, def mechanical mate and def from front right, if it wasnt for the fact it only does it in a straight line i would say cv joint for sure, oh well jimmy is looking at my car on sat if u can wait till then im sure we will have an answer

this sounds VERY similar what happened to me just last week, ended up being engine ping. wait 'til you refill your car up and tell us if the noise continues.

Paul, is it related to revs do you think. Does it do it in 4th at the same throttle position and revs?

Did you look at the plugs yet?

hmmm 3rd at 60?? Well you will rocket away so maybe its the engine mounts? Could be loose etc? Particularly if you are tuned its right in the fast section of the rev range.

I'm not a mechanic and nor has it happened to me, but I've heard of similar things on 3MPS's.

is it still occuring or has it gone? .... this maybe silly and by no means em i insulting anyopnes inteligence but could it just be a stone imbeded in the tread of your tyre? come to think of it i heard a clicking noise the other day too sept i found what it was . it was the apr diverter valve rubbing on the engine cover .

3rd gear at 60kmph is below the good torque band, at least with my chip.

You changed the spark plugs? So does that indicate a Pinging issue?
