Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just on the TT diverter valve...I have looked high and low for one of these, and have been told more than once (including by JMAC) that the standard Polo GTI DV and the TT DV share the same part number....

I have the Forge 007 DV with the 17-22 PSI spring in it now, but I have never found a TT DV.

i found 2? lol .. gone now tho, 1 lost and 1 i sold i think.. but if same part number, go figure.

like the ttrs being a t4 transporter engine.. lol

the baileys one has a great feel. proble mwith the forge one i found was that every spring gives you a different feel when boost comes on. 1 spring would hold more boost in certain gear/rev range more then another, so i changed.. gfb or baileys i would recommend personally from exp but at the end of the day same sheet! lol
      What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

Quote(You do NOT need some crazy airfilter, oem vw filter in comparison was under 2kw which is very minimal for day to day driving. (dyno proven). However if you run a decent intake system (not a snorkel but actual something from the front end you will get the same from an oem as a pipercross or bmc)
Yep agree here, i have many convos about this, but its really each to their own at the end of the day, some like the throat noise where ive got over that
Interesting about the N75, there is a few variants with different results too, good to hear the feedback here.

          Thanks for the input Pierre.

The Polo stock intake is more restrictive than the Mk4 as well, so further improvement again.

Good point about the Throttle body hose, I didn't really touch on that, was only really commenting about the TIP (well, I assume, did them at the same time).

I ran the N75J for a while, boost was more linear. I preferred the Stock N75 with my setup and tune, so have a J sitting around gathering dust, Might try it again as I have not had it on since the FMIC and TIP.

It is an VAG part, avail from Audi for about $250 or ebay for about $150.

Which one have you currently using Thunder? H or J? I'm curious on your thoughts about it?

                      I am using the N75J

To tell you the truth I dont really know, as when i got the car I put the N75J on straight away

I might pull if off soon and use the stock one for a while

The J is supposed to maintain boost longer isnt it?

The use of the J version is to do with the way the computer bleeds boost. There is an idea that the stock one is not up to the job.
