Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • How to install N75J valve??

    Hi,

Just received N75J valve in mail from UK. How do I install it.

Someone said its installed opposite to the stock N75?

Is it a simple case of replace each hose as per stock valve or does this valve work differently??

The following image is stolen from Plautos' thread about what he's done to his Pog.

I don't think you need to install in reverse (please correct me if I'm incorrect)

This is where i bought it.

It comes in an envelope wrapped in plastic, no instructions etc.

Yup, from Fleebay. Pretty quick, seems good.

I've also put in the Festo flow controller, but don't recommend (maybe after i've got it all sorted i'll think more highly of it) if you've got a tune done.

N75 just needed pliers to open spring clamps.

Still took me 20 minutes, but i'm not much good with the tools.

                  What does it do?

Its a solenoid that is controlled by the cars engine ECU to adjust the bleed rate on the control line to the wastegate. The J version is often fitted to 1.8T cars that have been 'chipped' to provide a little extra boost. This is not the intended application of this part, but many people say this J valve has worked for them and given more turbo boost. Generally speaking, the J valve only works on chipped cars only. If you have a standard ECU, this part may not incease boost performance.

                  Does that kind of help

If it's the J valve, it is installed in reverse to stock valve, I know I've been lazy but I will take a picture of mine with the part number 2moro. I fitted mine under recomendation from Seb, It was purchased from Five Dock VW who stock it especially for Seb. I used to work there and drilled Seb for info in the early days before a reflash was available. Joe

For fitting follow these pictures - https://www.peterbeers.net/vw_roadtr.../N75J/N75J.htm

N75J is NOT fitted in reverse to stock valve, it's just that the electrical connection faces the other way when it's in position - but the stock wire is long enough to reach.
