my fronts are 17x7.5 with a +25 offset. they were scoring the brakes so i put on some 5mm spacers up there to sort out that issue (now a +20 offset). my rears are 17x8's with a +32 offset, the right wheel was scraping up on the inside on the plastic cover that covers the fuel tank, so i put some 10mm spacers back there to sort out that issue (now a +22 offset).
i tried the 8's on the front with the +32 offset and they wacked into the struts well before even getting to the hub.
i don't have a photo of my car with the rear spacers on, but the top edge of rim is dead on in-line with the guard. so the bottom edge (with increased camber from lowering) sits well out from the guard
. looks very phat when driving behind in.
by the way, my tyres are 205/40 R17 all round, so nicely stretched on the rear.
i have no scrubbing issues, and also what Whubbsie said, the guards are rolled from factory which allows for plenty of wheel to tuck up inside if need be.
