I'm highly efficient haha. My mechanic and I did it. We just just cut the 'tabs' to size with a hack saw, put the car up on the hoist, measured up the bumper and started drilling through. Then it was just a matter of screwing it in and sawing/filing off the ends. Don't need to alter the shape of the lip to fit on the Polo's, it's pretty much the right shape. Only a few mm alter right on the ends and it's perfect.

i'll give the ends a hit with sandpaper tomorrow to clean it right up and then grab a few piccies!

            • Haha yeah I do that as well... but this time I was at a workshop, so was surrounded by sufficient equipment.

Pics will come soon, just want to get the car washed.

              • and here they are.... it was dark in the basement so you can't really see it well. i'm a bit boozed and have to pack for melb tomorrow (5am start) so I did a pretty quick crap job of photographing and editing them. when i get back from holidays i will take some piccies in the daytime. I reckon this is about as beefed up as you can get on the front end of a Polo

oooh, you can also see the tread of my new Pirelli P-Zero Nero's I got put on today. $550 for just the front two

                • Looks awesome!

I just picked up mine today, thank Tim and Seb for storing it until I was able to pick it up today

I need a hoist, CBF taking off the front bar. Does it matter what bolts you use?

                      • Hooray lip installed today !! Thanks Tim !!

BTW those spring clips (4) underneath were a bastard to get off and back on. As well, I forgot the foglight needed to be disconnected so I was scratching my head for a few minutes wondering wtf was stopping me taking it off. Not in any hurry to take it off again, though putting it back on was a breeze.

                        Quick snap with the phone

                        • Do you think this can be done without taking the bumper off? the car will be up on the hoist so will be easy to get under the car.
                          thanks.

                          • yep quite a few people have done it up on a hoist instead of removing the bumper.

                            • I did this job last night. With 2 of us working on it, drinking beers and chatting along the way, it took 2 hours from starting to take the front bar off till we got the bar back on an closed the bonnet. It was a hell of slot easier than expected.
