The faster I can go with the least mods and money spent doing something I love, the better it makes me feel.

Of course, not everyone has the need for wheel tramping, loss of traction and v8 fuel bills.

I'm thinking about the front brace, when you put it on, was it separate to your swaybar? Did you notice the difference on normal street driving (obviously spirited driving)...

Strut brace didn't make much difference, no where near as much as the RSB, though I'd probably notice if I took it off. RSB is a must mod for those that want to go round corners, and they are probably the cheapest mod you can do, $200-$300. They can be a little dangerous, but mostly they work very well. Speaking of, I need to order new bushes and grease it up.

I've been in a nice old Porsche, tried to drive it 'fast'.

Friends father took me around and the car did not squeal or feel uncomfortable and he FLOGGED my time by many seconds.

There is a reason why F1 / V8 / etc drivers get paid well and its not becuase they drink coffee...

A good driver can do track times I will NEVER have the patience to master.

Don't understand why you've only focused on power in a hot hatch that is designed for handling on a budget rather than raw power.

Just had rear sway bar installed, amazing for the $$$.

Ballpark Pricing: Very vague and inaccurate, please feel free to correct me here:

Coilovers / Shocks / Springs:

Basic Suspension: H&R springs: 300-500 +install

Medium Suspension: H&R springs / Bilsten or Weitec or something: 1000-2500 + fitting

Premium Suspension: KW's, etc: 2000-5000 + fitting.

Other Bits:

Rear sway: 150-250

Droplinks: Recommended for shorter springs: 50ish + fitting

Front Strut brace: 200-300 + fitting

Rear toe adjusters: 100ish + fitting

There are plenty of other I don't know the pricing for: Front Sway bar, rear brace, rear suspension bushes, engine mount bushes(more for power delivery), better tyres, lighter wheels, pulling out your back seat...

Ok, some of those aren't going to do a whole lot. I'd start with a rear sway bar and the coilover set / springs of your choice.

I have Federal 595RS-R's on my stock wheels...Awesome tyres with great grip, and they have lasted 25,000km so far, and I think they will last about another 20,000km more...I am really surprised about how long they have lasted!! I drove them pretty hard too before I put on my other set of wheels in April. I rotated them regularly too. Well worth it i think. I paid $150 each off my mate who knows a guy...But I cut one back in January, and I had to pay $328 to replace one tyre!!
