You can use stock clutch and slave cylinder.
    Easy peasy then....

          Re: Polo GTI gearbox strengthening

I contacted sqm and they said if three of us by the gear set it will be $1860 without sending the original gears

Anyone up for a better gearset?

I'd love a longer 5th gear, wonder if there would be a few others in for that (assuming its not a major job to swap - probably is)

He has three different types of ratio, personally I want a stronger first gear and a more aggressive 1-3gears

Labour wise it's not as bad as a lsd installation, still couple of hundred dollars

                  Polo GTI gearbox strengthening

There are 2 400whp + seat Ibiza cupras in South Africa running stock boxes.
Used purely for street and drag racing

I did see a VWVortex thread where it was said that you can install a TDI 5th gear while the box was still in. If I come across it I'll link it.

Anyone gone with the TDI 5th gear or a Wavetrac TBD that can comment?? Or even driven a FWD with a Wavetrac on the track and street?

Eddy had a Peloquin which is pretty similar but reckons his Salisbury is far better and just as unobtrusive in normal driving.
Peter Jones has used both the Peloquin and the Wavetrac in his Kamei track car and reckons the Wavetrac is noticably better.
