It seems to me you're full of contradictions or you're very confused! You bought the car to get away from big power and breakages, yet you want it to be "fast" now i.e. big power in a car that wasn't designed for it yet you point out that it's still not fast enough...

If you want something that handles and has big power I think you're looking at the wrong cars. Maybe you should try your luck with an EVO, 911, RX7, or a Silvia.

There are plenty of Falcons and Commodores running big numbers without issues or have wisely upgraded to gearboxes built to handle horse power. Maybe you're doing it wrong

In somthing sorta relating to this topic.

My Mazda 808 with 700hp and stock suspention and rubbish brakes got flogged around queensland raceway by a stock engine datsun 1600 with coilovers and brembo brakes semi slicks. etc.

man, you gotta look at the whole picture.

i reckon too much power in the polo would be more of a curse than a blessing-who wants constant wheelspin in the car's most fun gears? (which is why i aint bolting on anything bigger than a gt1749).

get kw v3's and semi slicks, and go in some hillclimbs.

or head up to buller behind any ford or holden land whale. you'll ruin their day before they even get their ski's on. the strength of these cars is very, very evident in the hills.

Yep. I'd be looking at an S3. Either that, or like someone else suggested, keep the Polo for your daily and buy something big and powerful for the weekend.

I honestly don't know what you want to hear.... a 550hp car is exactly that... fking fast. Sure I wish my GTI was faster, but I know a 135i is around 70k on carsales... so is an e46 M3. But then I know if I want to go really fast I get a loan and buy a 911 Turbo.

I'm not trying to be offensive here... but if you want super straight line fast...... Talk to Preeny.

S3 + few mods might satisfy you.

Well, atleast for a little while

there's not many options out there if you want to go faster for similar cost. well at least not with all the comforts and quality of a modern vw.

unless you go to 2 wheels...

Meh, the Polo GTI is a fun car, not a fast car. Anyone can drive fast in a straight line, and its boring as hell. Give me a twisty road any day of the week. Its where it really counts.
