What does a chipped GTI run?
Kai on here has time slips for a 13.9 run down the quarter. Alot of guys are getting 14.4/14.5's. This is just with an APR Tune, and semi slicks. Nothing drastic.
Not sure what a KO4 would get, you may have to ask Guy Harding about that, as he ran a KO4 in his Polo GTI for a while.

          torque

          These threads amuse me .

Chip + downpipe + front mount + lsd + clutch + suspension is about all these cars can safely take . If you want more you have bought the wrong car . Dont get me wrong it can be done , but your gonna need a lot wider rubber . Your not gonna fit wider rubber under standard guards . When you do manage to get those wider wheels and guards to make the 200kw atws , your gonna get horrid torque steer . The cars life as a daily will end at this point , cause either your gonna crash your car cause of the torque steer or your arms will be sore from driving the car and you'll need to get something more driver friendly . The Polo wheelbase is too narrow for a good powerful daily driver , and the chassis isnt as good . A mk4 gti / a3 in this respect is superior to a polo . Better overall chassis with the ability to fit wider rubber

What amuses me Seb, is people drag racing with Polo's?

Being 'hot-hatches' I would generally think of them as much better track cars than strip weapons.

that being said, you could have all the power in the world, and a proper driver could make you look like a spanner, in a standard kit!

Driver training, to get the best out of the car imo

EDIT: Note, I'm not having a dig a drag racing, or anyone here particularily. My comments are just general comments regarding hot hatches and various forms of racing, and what I think they're suited too. Just my opinion.

That's not how I read Seb's post at all - in fact, he listed all the mods you could realistically make before you turn the car into a pig.

Knowing the limitations of your starting position is worthwhile.
