the tip and intercooler make a massive difference to top end especially motorway speeds!

Ill probably give it a go. Wouldnt supprise me if i was the first to go back to V1 tho. Ill dyno before and after same day. Ill do a few tests too which will give a cool bit of data.
I had V2 and this is my honest opinion.. It may have a higher average power but the characteristics dont suit the car as well as V1. We dont have the traction for the low down squirt and when it gets traction its not making as much power as V1. Why do you want a tune that smokes the tyres down low and finally when you get traction, it has no top end?
Yeah its punchy coming out of corners etc but in a straight line, I reckon V1 is faster.. I went back.. Whats the point of having an exhaust/intake etc for more top end and the tune isnt taking full advantage..
Maybe if we get better tyres V2, otherwise V1

I think V2 sounds better for everyday use, and V1 sounds better for track...
As for being better on the track, it really depends on the track.
If the track is windy, V2 is much better as it has the better lower end power delivery out of corners. If you're in the Indianapolis 500 going flat stick and not touching the brake pedal, go with V1 as it is gives you the higher top end.

It does have pretty short gearing so you wont be in the V2 power zone for very long but up top where it peters off.
I think if you drive you car at half throttle all the time zipping around town V2 is better but if you like to open her up on the highway or the drags and go to redline V1 would be quicker.

the 5,000rpm+ drop off doesn't affect me anyway.... i have the SEAT intake pipe and BMC filter.... stays solid the whole way through.

But.
That dyno graph was done with a intake or some sort aswell. And in the dyno graph it dies off on the top quite considerably.

That dyno was done with TIP & BMC CAI intake.
APR V1, TIP etc, FMIC & Downpipe for me added all the low down power of V2 but with topend of V1. Last dyno I did made max power @ 5100rmin same as V2 but almost no drop off till 6500rmin. Dropped only 2kw atw between 5100 and 6200rmin ......
So I had the best (or worst) of both worlds .... wheelspin in 2nd gear whilst rolling past 5000rmin .....Last edited by Sharkie; 11-05-2009, 07:01 PM.Current: 2023 MY23 T-Roc R Lapiz Blue + Beats Audio + Black pack 2018 MY19 Golf R manual Lapiz Blue + DAP) 2014 Amarok TSI Red (tuned over 200kw + lots of extras) 2013 Up! manual Red 2017 Polo GTI manual Black Previous VWs and some others ...

if peak power can be made lower down in the rev range, why not go for it? its gotta be better for the engine.
