you can get some Weitec springs for around $400 off Dragan at InMotive, you get a discount for being a member here
It will only affect the warrenty on your suspension, it wont matter to the rest of the car

Depends on what you want to pay...I paid $285 for my springs 12 months ago, but I fitted them myself. Look at about $300 for labour to fit them on top of the cost of the springs.

Insurance...Talk to your insurance company...Remember, legally you have to have 100mm clearance from the lowest point of the car to the ground (not including the wheels)...
Warranty...Only voids it if the replacement springs or the work done replacing the springs directly contributed to the failure of a part on the car...Eg, if you have a lowered car, but you stereo fails, you are still covered...If your shock absorber fails, VW may have grounds to avoid replacing it under warranty.

No...I am lowered on 17's and I don't scrape.
