    haha thanks for reminding me.

congrats on the purchase, i definatly would have gone the tdi if i had known the potential. as for changes, definatly put some wider wheels and in time replace the suspension with something with abit less roll, dont know about the gti's but on the other models the diference it makes is huge, makes it alot more fun to drive regardless of power.

a mate has done some simple changes to his toyota starlet - suspension and tyres and while only a 1.3l the speed he holds up nebo is crazy.

          So 16s or 17s?
i would go 16's. i appreciate the gorgeous 17's all over the place out there (the red gti with the tt comp wheels in the wheels thread is absolutely stunning), but then again, my car's never going to see bigger than 15. 15inch, with 45 profile rubber, and lowered.

and no need to thank me- thank these guys. if it werent for this forum, i'd know jack all about my car.

If you don't do this your speedo will be wildly incorrect.

But the speedo is way off as is. I think its calibrated to accept a larger wheel+tire diameter. I remember when we were talking about speedometer inaccuracy a long time ago people with 205/17R40 were having a lower error rate with the speed accuracy. And also i think the wheel arch could do with a slight filling (both wheel & tyre). I think the 17s with H&R 35mm drop couldn't be surpassed for looks. Has the ideal balance of everything.

You can, but I don't think its too legal.

you might not be able to tint headlights, but i think that the polo gti headlights look slightly darker e.g.

Automakers rely heavily on all media channels to promote their products and gather a market share as large as possible. The process starts with designing an eye-appealing car and making sure people get to see it. This is where car photos come into play, and it is more than just point and shoot. The first […]

                        than the standard headlight:

maybe if you can find some at a wreckers, or if you can convince anyone to swap? or maybe you'll find something in the classifieds.

i think they might cost too much if you were to ask your local dealership to buy them as a spare part, but you never know...

Get some headlight protectors and tint them maybe. That way, you can remove them at night when you need to use them. Or when the police pull you over and ask about them!

                                My Polo likes being happy

                                I don't like a sad Polo

Yeah...Tinted headlights are a defect waiting to happen...

Chapter 6, Section 29, of the QLD Transport is where they will get you...Its a fine and one demerit point if you get defected. I have seen it happen a couple of times up here to guys at work.
