You can dress it up as "Free on road costs" or 10% off RRP + ORC but it is still a discount.
Lol... resale values are taken from the RRP anyway - onroad costs come from ALL dealers (new or 2nd hand). The RRP has never been reduced.

If you buy a car for $25000 + $3000 onroad, the car is not worth $28000. The car is worth $25000.

If you buy a car for $25000 with free onroads, it's the same car, worth $25000.

Resale is not effected, it's just that the amount of money you LOSE is $3000 greater if you pay the onroads.

Yeah, i guess its a combo of how tiny it looks from behind, with the round (circular) lights, which i think is timeless, etc etc.

I find it quite agreeable. One pet dislike i have with newer and newer cars, is that they just seem to be getting bigger and bigger. The back of the current pog looks quite small, whereas the new one definitely looks larger.

I adore hatches for their practicality. Hope i dont see the day that hot-hatches become "hotwagons".

i agree the current polo is the last of the "small" hot hatches, they are all going bigger due to safety regs etc and people wanting a bigger small car??!! just think our polo gti is closer to the orginal mk1 golf gti in size, and has been commented on as being the real mk1 contender!

I saw a VB Commodore the other day next to a modern Corolla and was amazed that the Corolla actually looked bigger!

Can't stand it when small cars get fatter and fatter.

MX5 is one of the very few cars that has stayed true to it's early roots.

I think the Pog is too heavy - it should be around the 950kg mark. There really is bugger all to it.

rigggggght... the current MX5 is much larger and heavier than the orginal. In fact its upto 200kg heavier than the original NA 1.6. Its growing at the same rate as small cars.

                  Original 1.6 - 955kgs
Current Model - 1129kgs (depending on spec)
                  Difference - 174kgs.

Consider the larger engine (1.6 to 2.0), far more features, body improvements and this is quite remarkable in a car that has been around for, what, 20 years????

Personally, I'd prefer the first 1.8 version - I've seen comparos and they say it is the pick of the bunch.

2012 model MX5 they are aiming for sub 1000kg.

VB Commodore weighed 1220kg - current Corolla almost 1300kg - ridiculous for a 'small' car!

What are static turning lights? And what is good about them?

                    • They turn even though they don't (static - turning) - what's good about them? The fact that their behaviour has been envoked by wizards.

So... you take a VB commodore (you said 1220kg)... add 30 years of techonology, space etc and get a Corolla (that people have said here seems larger than a VB) that is 1265kg. Seems a pretty good result for all that kg intensive technology etc.

Toyotas small car now is the Yaris not the corolla. And that is a svelte 1050kg. Or nearly 100kg less than a MX5 - something to think about

By the way, the top selling MX5 (hardtop model) is 1167kg.

I have driven all the MX5 models (NA6, NA8, NB and NC) and the best overall car is the NC. The most fun is my mate's MX5 SP turbo (150kw+)

Mid next year is my bet.

Were down the list a Polo placements as we only sell a small amount compared to China, Africa, South America and Europe.
