The concern I have with Loctite or some other theft prevention method is that the little bastard that can't get my antenna will decide to use such force as to damage the roof or just go mental and dent another panel .... I'd rather they take a $25 antenna then damage a panel.

I asked because I bought one from a Peugeot 607 for my GTi180. When I sold it and got the Polo GTI, I kept the aerial which happened to fit nicely (not perfectly, but nicely. The thread is the same size, it just doesn't screw all the way down so there's a small gap). It cost me $13 from my local Pug dealer.
I also reckon there's a good chance that the guy that stole this one had his stolen by someone else thus beginning a never ending cycle of stubby aerial tennis between like-minded thiefs.

funny thing is that on that car mine was a cheap replica antenna - and the damage caused was around 20 times the cost of the antenna - so now ive learned - if they want to steal the crappy antenna then let them - and dont bother to buy the aftermarket expensive ones
getting the roof to have a huge unsightly dent that needs to be repaired at a huge cost is not worth it
