  • Argh! Stupid thieves!

I think I read here not long ago someone had their short antenna stolen! Well, mine was stolen last Friday too!!!! I'm going to the person next time!!! ARGH! Stupid people, and this was at Manly in Sydney in the underground parking of all places!! Really pissed!

Anyways, I guess I'll get a replacement. Is there any way to secure these? Or do we just have to put up with it?!

    That sux man...

In terms of securing it, I use and recommend Locktite 401...If you want to glue freight trains together, use this stuff...Also good for gluing coins and thongs to the ground too...

        bad idea..

I used locktite a few years back on a car to prevent the theives and someone tried to steal it and snapped it off. All I had in the screw thing was the broken end.. With the locktite I didnt have a chance getting it out..

Its something just have to tolerate..

In that case with the stuck screw, you could have used an Easy Out screw and bolt remover, and Acetone will break down the Locktite if you want to remove it.

If I park in a questionable area for any length of time, I unscrew it and put it in the boot.

Try a liberal coating of black shoe polish.

Install something that pressurises that when you remove the antena it squirts you in the face.. Maybe link up a hose from your coolant... when its boiling hot (ie you have just left your car to go to the shop), mr theif comes along and gets some hot coolant in the face.
