do you need to book in? or do you just rock up ? ............. no specific licences required for sat sprints are there?
a helmet can be hired for $5 on the day ($20 refundable deposit). They give you a hair net.

A license is needed, $20 for a day license, $50 for an annual which covers QR and Lakeside.

You're best to book in before the day as you get a $20 discount, though can do on the day bookings. Jump on the QR website and print out the sprint entry form.

I won't pre-book till thursday as I'll keep an eye on the weather. Don't want to be out there if it's much over 30deg. Tyres will go off in a couple of laps, plus it's just plain hot so will sweat my arse off.

a damp track is ok, even a wet one can be fun (QR is a very safe track, Lake side or morgan park in the wet won't be fun). But 35+degrees at QR certainly won't be much fun either. It's looking like a hot weekend, if it's in the mid 30's, I don't think I'll do it...

I'll keep an eye on the forecast.

Was out at QR again on the weekend. Since my last time I've installed Biltseins, with H&R springs and seat lower control arm bushes. The car is otherwise still totally factory (pads, tyres, etc). I was consistently and comfortably 2 seconds a lap quicker with the installation of the bilsteins compared to just having the H&R's with stock shocks. It was also a lot more adjustable in the corners, carrying significantly more speed through the high speed stuff. And this 2 secs is on tyres that are past their best.

Good times. Now to replace the tyres. I'd ideally like a dedicated track set (semi slicks), but will need to wait till funds the prevail.

I'm in the same boat re a second set of tyres / wheels.

A light set of 16's with some spacers or a good offset would work well. Keeping an eye on the Clasifides section and ebay, but funding does not seem to permit right now...

Kumho Ku36's seem like a good option, reasoably priced, but it all depends on your budget.
