Screw what the other drivers think...Its a legal requirement to get the other drivers details after the accident. Should have just parked it there and then, and walked away till the cops came. Thats what I did in my accident last month.

as ryan said, screw what they think. if people are honking at you, just ignore it....what are they going to do? honk more? yell? oh wait, drive around! if they were in your situation they would have done the same thing and stayed there.

if it was that much of an issue to stay put, there had to have been somewhere nearby you both could have pulled over and exchanged details, it's what EVERYONE does. if she just drove off then that is an offence.

i'm hoping you at least got her rego so you can report it to the police and your insurer. please tell me you did.

its a good idea to snap a photo or two with yr mobile phone cam, or the impact, location, and the other driver's number plate

Other drivers need to be patient in such circumstances and it doesn't take too long to get the other persons details anyway. If you are obstructing traffic and the accident is only minor the done thing is if possible to move the cars off the road or to a side streeet and exchange details there. I don't know about other states but in NSW if you are obstructing traffic you are obliged to move the cars if it is possible.

            Cheers

Luckily they street I was in was very wide(in South Penrith Industrial area), so cars had plenty of room to go around in both directions. The police had no drama's with myself and the other bloke leaving our cars there.

I cant believe what im reading.

Someone rear ended you and damaged your car. Then because someone honked their horn you didnt get the drivers details, and drove off?
