i can only agree with that theory. low to medium speed for the ladies, and high speed right offs for the guys. but truth be told those statistics have got to be out dated !! i got over taken when i was doing a not so normal speed limit up here in qld i got passed by a golf gti , at least traveling 160+. 2 young gals with audrey hepburn glasses (a native to the sunny coast) were the drivers.

Young female driver = minor to medium fender-benders due to low speed accidents
Young males = major write-offs due to high speed accidents
Young males get the wrap as bad drivers because they are much more confident behind the wheel and are considered reckless, causing accidents that way (higher speed impacts, losing control etc.).
Young girls however, are the ones that cause more accidents because they are hesitant nervous drivers and often get mixed up with the pedals under panic (slam on the accelerator/brakes whilst eyes closed) and next thing.....smash! they may not be as major and won't make the headlines like the young males, but the quantity of crashes caused by females is significantly higher.
LOL polo, you fogot to mention that they let go of the steering wheel and wave their arms in air!!
I saw one hit a roo the other night and I don't think she even stopped talking on her mobile phone ! She got out of her car with the phone still glued to her ear. At least the roo wasn't hurt too badly (unfortunately neither was her hyundai).
