I'll admit a commo ss with $12K would eat like a fat kid, but i'd never buy one because of the quality..... oh and because i'm a big fan of originality.
No I'm comparing what else you can get for your cash.

I have standards hence the reason I've got the GTI (seems to be similar standards to yourself as we both have silver)

All I'm trying to say is that $55k for a small car is a joke. If they dropped the price to around $40k it would be alot better value for money.

Anyway back on topic, my point was that you can get a whole lot more car for the same price. ATM you could get a bomodore SS ute (mate just got one brand new) for $34k drive away which leaves you $20k for mods (twin turbo kit is only about $12k installed.

That's true but you can guarrentee that it'll end up being made in the same South African factory as the Polo so will it really be worth the extra $23k?

Apparantley the next Fiesta ST (aka. XR4) with the 1.6 Turbo won't price-hike over the current 2.0 N/A model.

I hope they don't do any silly price hiking with the next Polo GTI, I have my sights set on an inexpensive hot-hatch with a 7-speed DSG gearbox... I can't describe the amount of awesome that car will be...
I just read what the article on the 'new generation' Polo GTI, it has the estimated price in GBP which worked out to about AUD$32,500. That's just what i read...

On another note, I wonder how the progress on the APR 1.4TFSI chip is going?
