  • APR FULL Exhaust

    Anyone got a FULL APR exhaust upgrade done? Is it worth the 2 grand? Does is sound HEAPS better? Does it sound 'ballsier'? Whats the performance gain?




    **Searched the threads and didn't find what i was looking for...sorry if this is a repeat and my search skills suck**

      what are my other options? recently had her APR chipped and i think exhaust is to be the next thing i look at

        Although I havn't got it, alot of the guys rave about the APR Downpipe.

          what is said downpipe...where does it live and what does it do?

            The Downpipe live between the Turbo and just after the Catalytic converter. this allows free'er flowing exhaust gas out of the Turbo, and better Spool up(response).

              hmm...half price of the full kit...might hit this one first!

              will have to have a yarn with the mechanic and listen to his two cents too

                Sharkie has a custom downpipe ... not APR ... but behaves very similar ... should give about 8-10 AWKW ... getting mine done this month.

                  Bump, Ive got full APR exhaust, plus chip plus CAI on my S3. I know its not a Golf, but youre welcome to take a look sometime.

                          Hey Bumpnuck,

                          I just got the APR downpipe and High Flow Cat put in.
                          Hhhmm my opinion so far.
                          Much more of a boom through the exhaust but this for me tricks me into perceiving the car is sluggish or "heavier" because it sounds like the car is struggling more. This is my perception however. The DP and HFC also sounds quite "raspy" or metallic...this is possibly due to the new stainless steel and the tinniness is heard...this may (someone help) settle down once the insides cake up with exhaust deposits?
                          Also hear the turbo whistles more loudly..I can only guess this is once again due to the resonance of the new stainless steel.
                          All said I'm at this stage undecided if there is a "noticable" difference in power etc...I don't think so, I believe I'm very sensitive to changes in the cars performance but I guess should give it a week or two before drawing final conclusions...its a lot of cash for a little gain....nothing beats the chip for value for $$...you'll never achieve such a noticable mod again.

                              doesnt sound right did u reset the ecu so the car can adapt to the new mods?
