Sounds dodgy - I cant imagine they'd leave off the engine cover to save a few bucks.

The engine cover is a pain the a$$. I prefer the engine without the cover. The only thing it may be good for is keeping some dust off the rocker cover, but even then it wouldnt do a great job.

With mine it was the Battery cover : "Your model doesn't come with that." BS, I tell you ... they're lying to you.

Typical dealer lying bull*****! Ask to have alook at another "2009" model -- I'll bet there's an engine cover. Or check ot a car at another dealer. I have to tell you, I'd get really angry about this -- it's the sort of thing that perpetuates the bad name of the car sales trade

Does it matter? Besides, the engine is better off without, less heat-soak.

If the car is supposed to have one it should come with one. Even if the first thing you do is take it off and store it until it is time to sell the car (the new owner may want it because it looks neater).

They stopped em on the Caddys a while ago.
I reckon the motors are pretty ugly without them

The engine cover does serve a purpose other than for aesthetic reasons. Safety for one; helps keep prying hands away from hot components and also helps avoid oil spills on those same components. It's easier to wipe up some spilt oil from the cover than on any nooks and crannies on the engine.
