Just another cool little VW feature...

hey all,

With all this rain around at the moment *looks outside at blue skies * I have been using my windscreen wipers a fair bit (as you'd hope one would).

Well, I pulled into my basement garage last night with my intermittent front wipers on and the rear wipers OFF. I put the car in reverse and noticed the rear wiper gave one sweep. I was confused as I knew I never turned the rears on. So I put it in 1st gear and then back into reverse and it did it again! After a few moments I thought to myself......hey!!!....its another feature i've discovered.

When the front windscreen wipers are on and you put the car in reverse, the rear wiper immediately cleans of the rear windscreen to improve visibility.......those clever Germans!

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this on all VW models?

Go on everyone, jump in your car and give it a test!

yeah its been a useful feature recently, also when you put it in reverse it changes the air to recycle so it doesn't suck up you exhaust fumes while reversing.

Yes, but they are made in Spain.
Just like the Polo GTI is made in South Africa.

No I am not sure...I have never owned a Polo GTI.
So yes, quite possible they are made in Spain also!
