  • Engine Mount Insert - total cost

    hey all,

a nice simple thread here. i am looking at FINALLY getting the engine mount insert done this friday and just wanted to know the total cost of the mod.

i understand the part is $119 (from APR anyway) but i need to know (approximately) how much the fitting cost will be. those of you that have this mod, how much did it cost you all up??

i am getting this mod just in time for the sunday brekky drive....

alternatively, does any one know of any other manufacturers of this part that i could obtain by friday?

    Cheers as always,
    Rhys

APR (Alex) will fit it with the right persuasion .... No other costs involved.

Just check if he is available though. Takes him 15mins only.

Superpro also do a similar product.

        Search Volkswagen -> Polo -> 9N -> Search -> Engine Steady Bushing

I can shoot you a PM if you want details.

Sorry Rhys, can't help you out...I did it myself...Just needed an Arbor press, and the appropriate mandrel, and it was sorted in about 10 minutes.

Rhy's - Eurotune at Miami can do it for you - they may have one in stock.

Give them a call to check.

Or pop up to Brisbane & we can do it for you

yeah the boys at Eurotune have one there.....well....they did when i got V2 done. i just ultimately wanted to know around what sort of coin the installation will cost me.

a leisurely friday drive to brissy may not be a bad idea. then i can feel the difference on the M1 on the way back.

APR (Brisbane) used to fit for free for existing customers.

Would have cost you $119 (less regular customer discount) fitted .... with a beer or 2 for Guy

$205 fitted seems like a rip-off to me.

well i'm happy to take a drive to brissy if Guy (or Alex) can do it for significantly cheaper than that. the guys there sais they will need the car for about 1hr as well.

this is why i started this thread, because i didn't know how much i should be paying. i'm not too happy with $205 so hopefully i can get a cheaper rate. i will be checking this thread until late tonight

Rhy's - its an hours labour to do the job - now pretty much every single workshop I know that works on Euro cars charges $99-00 per hour including GST.

So it sounds like you are getting a 20% discount on labor there.

I'm not sure what industry you are in, but most have an hourly charge rate.

Don't forget Eurotune flashed V 2.0 into your car completely free of charge, even though the software was not purchased through them, so you are already up an hours labor!

Some dealers do it for free - but we don't make the rules up on labor charges. I suppose the more you spend with them, the better the deal is.
