I have called couple of K&N air filter dealers, the price form $94 to $210, and mainly they do not have stock. Don't konw why the price difference is so big for a same product. Also the BMC air filter for POLO GTI at AUTOBARN is $149, and the boss said BMC air filter is better than K&N one, coz it has 20% more air flow than K&N. Since they are similar price, what do you guys think? which one is better for POLO GTI?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I have a K&N in mine($90 though REPCO Darwin), but I have had a BMC one in the past. Although the BMC wasn't in my Polo, I can say that both are great filters, and are made from the same materials, and are both oiled."If can't get behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them..."

im thinking about one for my TDI and would be interested in the resultsVW: it aint just a car, its a way of life

Try Repco Port Melbourne or Dandenong (the ones I went to) unless they put the price up from August.Originally posted by Preen59It doesn't matter what car you drive.. If you're a complete wanker.. People still won't want to talk to you..

Why Repco give me different prices?
They always have to order it in they never stock it but if it's not in the system they should have call the supplier they supplier would at the very least given them a month for when the next shipment will be in.
you could always just get it online from the uk won't be cheap but you will get it sooner or laterOriginally posted by Preen59It doesn't matter what car you drive.. If you're a complete wanker.. People still won't want to talk to you..

I reckon the Seat intake is good.. YEs I did cut the plastic out at the front...
It doesnt seem like you get much for your money... looks like a $30 bit of rubber but it seems to work well.. What do you physically get for the price of a tune... Fresh air so at least you get something you can see for your money..
Anyhow just got back from the workshop with BMC filter in... Its a little hot outside so intercooler might be robbing me of some power..
Ill definately give you a before and after by tonight.. my gut instinct is there wont be much to say. I dont think it will be noticable..
By the way I paid it $120 but I bought 2 of them and a APR dump pipe so maybe its more of a package deal..

Thanks man, I will be waiting for your revies of this BMC filter, I will cut the plastic on SEAT intake later just like you did, anticipate the stones wont come to the engine when I driving on the street...That is my only concern.

Hi,
The car feels really good with the package that I have.. It really does have a brutal midrange..
I have the APR software V2, APR Dump pipe, APR Diverter Valve, SEAT intake and BMC filter..
With respect to the BMC filter, Im not sure how much it contributes but all in all, they all work very well together..
The little Polo really does have some shove...
It just revs straight through to the Rev line, quickly and smoothly, sounds good (maybe the BMC is contributing to the induction note)..
I would say get the BMC, Ive heard they are less oiled up than the K&N. So less oil flowing through your MAf sensor (do we have a maf sensor)
