  • Unhappy with APR engine dog bone mount since yesterday afternoon~~

I have replace the APR engine mount for almost one week, it "was" real good for normal driving, and the little engine vibration when idleing is acceptable, I mean the opportunity cost is not big, as I feel the car is nicer for driving; everything is firmer and more feeling of engine when travel around 80Km/Hour, after this mod, but...however, the first time on the air conditioner after this mod wasesterday, I started to hate is from then on~~ the car vibration like **** when idleing, I felt like seat on a 20 years old tractor~~ The summer is bloody hot in australia, on one will survive without aircon for sure, is thinking to replace the orginal one back.. what do you guys think? can you stand the vibration after on the aircon? it becomes my dear polo gti into a fking "dildo"...

Hang on, hang on - before spraying here, how about checking with whoever fitted it to see if all is ok. If you did it yourself, check it all.

If comfort is the major factor i dont think upgrading engine mounts is the right plan of attack. After having a chat to you the other day mate it didnt sound like you were the type of person to get much benefit from this mod.

hahaha thats why im taking out my poly bushes in my mk4 gti the poly does not last aslong as the rubber used in the density line mounts from 034motorsport they use a stiffer rubber in there mounts and they are 25% stiffer than stock thats for the street mounts there are also track mounts wich are firmer again, but thats for the golf you may need to check if they do polo ones.
mk4 the mods begin for round 2 hahahha

It was not done by myself, Its a easy job but needs the right equipment. The work has been done properly and they have done many of them. I had the benefits from this engine mount, but the opportunity cost is becoming a lot larger than before when I on the A/C. I am not the type to mod the car to increase performace.. just the APR engine mount is the cheappest part in that shop, when you like something you also like to spent the money on right? On the A/C, my car becomes a hell place for seating in.

Yes, same problem here, although mine's not APR. I guess I just learnt to live with it. It is better some times and worse at others. Try different fuel - that has an effect. Shell is good, Mobil is bad.

I've had mine for more than 9 months and even with A/C on I have almost no vibration.

Did you go intermediate or full race spec? APR has 2 specs and the intermediate is the recommended for daily use.

wangsha17 - check with Volkspower (I assume you had it fitted there) - if yours was the "race spec" or the "street spec". Simple issue to switch it over if you had the race spec. Or call us - we need to read some markings on the mount to determine which version you have.

Couldnt agree more. But My question is Why did you have to start a new thread when you had already posted a similar story in the Polo Dogbone Mount thread.
