          Hey Buller_Scott

yeah im going to mod the engine with a ST3 chip as soon as i get the funds, then ill be looking at 130BHP and 300Nm But before that im going to get it lowered and a whiteline rear sway bar to get the rear end breaking out first before i start to push the front.

Yeah my car isnt even 12 months old and its already clocked up 27,000 hahah, ohh and i also have a K&N filter on the way

          Are you looking into mods?

timeless choice of colors and it sounds like you're going to mod engine too??

beaut, mate- apparently the alh engine is very moddable, whereas the next gen diesel cd engine wont be as tweakable- we got in at the right time!! (no doubt the purists out there will shut me down with some tech info- i dont mind, i love my little motor)

ive seen youtube clips and posted photos on other forums of vw diesels at over 600,000 (yes- six hundred thousand) miles, so hopefully we're in for a good, lengthy run.

on a different note- golfman, where have you got to?

            hey polo spec d,

you bet im looking into mods- i think ive pretty much decided what i want to do with the car. i will also add that golfman on here has a tdi and he's looking into it aswell- i think he said he wants coils and 180fwhp- im not quite so ambitious in my quest as unlike many on these forums, i CAN be satisfied, lol.

im not going to mod for atleast another year- i want to be atleast half way through my warranty before i do anything, and keep in mind this list is always changing in some subtle way, but the list of mods that will satisfy me collectively are:

-chippeduk st3 (once flash counter reset thing is good to go
            -seat cai
            -bmc replacement panel filter
-MAYBE a dp (although not sure how i feel about the strain on the clutch)
-good tyres- michelin or pirelli or something
-16 inch golf pursuit(standard) wheels- really wanna get some tenzo's, but its pointless as i need to be able to put wheel chains on the car in the winter, whilst not forfeiting the ability to have good rubber on the car for dry days, and not having to worry about scratches- first use of chains last year ripped the sh7t out of my hub caps, lol.
-lowering springs for no more than 35mm, and rear sway bar.

with all that in place, i think i'd be very happy. then its lots of driving whilst not taking anything for granted whatsoever, and some advanced driving courses and defensive driving courses

what about yourself what are you planning?

yeah ive seen clips of one on a dyno, on youtube. very nice.

anyone have any idea what max torque would be on the polo tdi clutch? or are you guys upgrading your clutches to match your performance mods?

Well ive done the tyres, rims and K&N. So the only other mods im looking at is
                -Whiteline rear sway bar
-Lowered sus no more then 35mm
                -ST3 chip
                - Seat CAI

So pretty much the same as urself, i track the car alot to so the mods will be pushed towards that.

nice. to be honest, im already impressed with how the car pulls- i wont try to profess to anyone that a stock tdi is fast, but its certainly zippy when you want it to be..... i think my (our, lol) list of mods will lend themselves to a car that is fun to drive, CANT WAIT to re-learn how to drive the car with whiteline rsb.... and it should be fairly shocking to unsuspecting passengers (like a couple of my mates) who think that polo 1.9 tdi = slow diesel version of a girls car......

how often do you track your car? i think it would be the safest option for me to familiarise myself with track as apparently i'll have to educate myself that rsb= more weight placed on front left tyre around right hand turns (and vice versa), and thus when tail steps out at apex you need to accelerate out of turn with well chosen line, and in doing so transferring more weight to the inner wheels? these forums have made me realise that i am SUCH a KOOK when it comes to cars/ driving.

good thing, too. nothing like a bit of humble pie in the process of educating one's self.

ah yes have had the humble pie acouple of times haha, i track every 3 months or so, will be heaps more when i have undertaken the mods yeah at the moment i drive the polo pretty hard and its delivering in bucket loads. I have seen vids and etc of polo tdi with ST3 doing 7sec and sub 7sec to, they become quick, i also wish i had a gear between 3rd and 4th, such a pain when the revs drop out at 4,200 and i can go to 4th cause i wont have the amount of pull i need. im hoping very much that the ST3 can help fix this problem if it does i better spend some more time on the track

Quattro Motors, they're on Burswood Rd. Local agents for APR & Oettinger, former Audi dealer I think so they know VAG pretty well.

a 7 second polo tdi would be about what i could handle, i think.

and i dare say that the SEAT cai and replacement panel should help- i cut the flap out of the air inlet in the front of the car and the seat of my pants noticed a difference with slightly less lag- so seat cai should be beaut.
