  • Polo Dyno Day - 9th August!!

    hey all,

i have just returned from the dyno day in brisbane which was great as we got 6 Polo GTI's with different mod combinations (plus one stock), running on the same fuel, same dyno...and all tested within 3 hours so the air temp in the garage was pretty stable throughout. i will leave it to the others to post up their results and Guy to put up the proper comparisons at a later date.

i was happy with my 123.8kW at the wheels with just the APR chip, which is a bit better than the 122.2kW last dyno day (no changes since then).

i also ran the stocko run with an 86.?kW at the wheels.....woohoo

Thanks to Guy, Alex and Neumans Garage for making this possible.

here are a few pics of from the day - i apologise for my rubbish camera:

    CLEAN YOUR BLOODY CAR JASN

    Cheers all,

    Rhys

132kw up from 120 on the last dyno with no mod changes. the difference in results was actually when mine got hotter it was running more boost and dumping more fuel. (think that was what the guy said but some1 correct me if im wrong)

And yes Rhys I WILL CLEAN MY CAR

It was a good morning ... interesting outcomes. I ran a 123.1kw ... not too unhappy with that. Unfortunately I seem unable to upload pics to Photobucket at the moment ... but I'll keep trying.

Thing I liked about the performance of my car was the broad band of power ... consistently over 115kw from about 4500 thru 7000.

Rhys mate they're some good shots. If you'd come out to Willowbank with us on wednesday night your car would've been filthy too. I didn't even have a run with the R and it was absolutely caked with dust. I gave her a good clean today though.

So Jason mate, are you happier now? A 14.3sec run plus a 12kW atw increase all in the space of one week.

Yep ... looks like the catback should be the next mod ...

Did they re-run Eddy's with the Stage II software and the BMC? Much difference? And if they did ... I hope they broke up the testing and put the SEAT intake and K&N Filter back and did a run with the Stage II software as well as doing it with the BMC ... 'cos quite frankly ... was not that impressed with the BMC before they put Stage II on Eddy's car (almost no diff from the SEAT & K&N combination).

stage 2 ran 137.8kW i think (with BMC), so not a big difference at all. obviously still needs some work. they did not run it without the with the seat intake and k&n. i'm sure Guy will put up the graphs for the stage 2, there is a lot more power in the lower rev range but tapers off from the peak very quickly.
