Which is a pretty good definition of what marketing is!

You could have the best product in the world and if no-one knows about it, it won't sell.

You could have an average product (ie Coke Zero) and hammer advertisements... it will sell.

Even though it's been previously dismissed as marketing, ..an APR stage 2 (yes real stage 2) has been released in the UK for the Polo GTI - when will it be available here??

if i was in the market for an ecu flash i would choose one of the more local workshops who do it and that would make you feel comfortable dealing with them. its always great to have a good relatioship with your mechanic and than to stick with them

I don't think theres been a product which has enjoyed such levels of consumption without providing any benefit to the consumer whatsoever besides a "perceived" one

Yeah ... was much better when it actually contained Cocaine. Oh ... that's right ... you're all too young to remember that.

Not like I went "Oh APR site is much prettier I'll go with them"

As stated All three are pretty much on par for performance, the difference are undetectable for normal street use which is what I will be using my car for.

They all offer the same functionality
Going with APR as that what I could find the most info on making me feel secure that i knew what I would be getting and what to expect

If the GIAC site was more informative, didn't have in terms and conditions that you might have to pay for upgrades and had a localized site I'd probably still be debating it

Do you approve with that decision making better Bug?

Tell you the truth I think I could go with any of the three and still walk away with a smile on my face and great service

Was also thinking custom-code but figured that was more specialized than need.

Still weeks away from getting my car so if you want to convince me I should be going with something else go for it.

i'm surprised you haven't locked this thread dave. these type of threads never end well.

i think the verdict is....all the mentioned brands are going to give you many arousing moments behind the wheel and you will not be dissapointed . the proof is in the pudding - there are several different brands on several different cars on this forum, and i'm sure everyone is more than happy with their.....hence the superiority argument every time this topic comes up.

organise as many free trials as possible and decide what feels the best for your personal driving style. i would be confident in saying that you may not even feel a difference in the different brands. on paper is one thing, on the tarmac is another......remember that.

go with the brand/dealer that you truly believe will give you the on-going support you deserve and is friendly enough to offer you future mod tips and maybe even some good prices on other gear you intend to purchase.

stay away from people who are 'not interested' and are just chasing the cash as they are the ones who will cause your car more harm than good.

                          Cheers,
                          Rhys

How could I close it, Rhys ... you make perfect sense.

However ... the flaming hasn't really gone too OTT yet ...

If it does ... someone will close it (may not be me).

The UK contacted me about the file (and vice a versa) , to date it has no more proven power output over our stage 1 version & it may actually have some negatives (in power & driveability). I believe they are doing some more work on it, but until we see a positive from it, we won't release it or even schedule it for local testing.

If we need local test cars, we can get several & have testing done in a week!
