I'm new to this forum. Have read virtually all the posts on the polo. I purchased a polo, and am supposed to pick it up aug 21st. I cant take waiting any longer. and the more i read about it, the more excited i get about it. what did others do while waiting around?

I tried not visiting this forum too much while waiting. It just made it hurt more. At the same time, it was hard to stay away. Having picked up my GTI three weeks ago, I feel your pain.

what kind of polo did you get? i'm gonna assume GTI

while you wait for it to arrive, go to supercheap auto and buy a heap of car care stuff. or if you want to modify your new toy, think about what you want to do to it. or if you're really bored, go to some dealerships and sit in an xr4, colt ralliart and swift sport, and when your GTI arrives you'll be glad you chose VW

So i was occupied to make it a better car and didn't see the time spent !

Thanks guys! i got a white with leather! i was tossing up between no leather or leather, and in the end i thought might as well! i hope its good! i didnt see a polo with leather in the dealership, but i saw leather in a golf? is it similar? i hope so. i just thought the leather will finish off the package nicely. give it a nice complete quality feel?

at least now i have this thread to follow so i can occupy myself!

i even put a white polo gti as my desktop wallpaper!

i have leather in my car. the heated leather seats are awesome, especially in this seasons cold nights. just crank it up and burn the hell out of your arse and back . some people say they are uncomfortable after being in the sun for a while (too hot) but i don't think it gets that bad....black leather would be a lot worse.

nice work dude. the leather will look and feel like a million bucks. and no they don't get that hot in summer. and you can always put a sun shade in the window, anyway.

the Polo GTI seats are different to the Golf GTI ones. they're shaped differently, the headrests are different and the Polo seats have the red stitching, which looks fantastic (the Golf's do not). you also get the trim on your doors. you're gonna love it.

oh. thats interesting... so let me get this straight... the leather is grey not black? i'm confused? it kinda looks blackish in the brochure? didnt notice the leather door trim tho!


i think the only thing i'm going to miss is having a centre arm rest.... also. can i ask, are the cup holders in the centre reliable? cause they looked a little shallow to me... ie would it hold a maccas drink? or would u mainly use the one on the stereo?

Leather is 'Anthracite' (basically grey).

Yeah the cup holders are good for macca's drinks. The hold pretty well.
