  • Milltek cat back exhaust doesn't fit

I've just bought a Milltek cat back exhaust for my Polo GTI, and am attempting to fit it today.

The new exhaust is 2.75" diameter, which seems to be a problem when it comes to mating it to the existing front pipe. The front pipe looks to be about 2.25", and there is no reducer included with the kit I have.

Milltek promote these exhausts as being a straight bolt-on, so what am I doing wrong? Am I missing a bit, or are these cat back exhausts not actually bolt-on as described?

I haven't fitted any to a 6c GTI yet, so can't be sure, but from experience fitting milltek systems on other VAG cars, they often don't fit the stock pipe diameter.
Sometimes we'd even be supplied with sleeves that also didn't match the stock pipe diameter, which was just bizarre.

So yeh most times with milltek we'd either sell complete system with downpipe, or have to weld in a reducer.

Ah, just to confirm - it's a 6R, not a 6C. I'm just late to the mod party.

I have a miltek cat back exhaust on my 6c and they fit.... done by harding performance. A lot better quality and sound than stock..... but expensive.

Give them a call, they'll point you in the right direction and will guide you in the right direction, with further mods.
